Christmas is gone & first snow is here

As you all know, Christmas has come and gone.  Now is the time to make your returns and cash in those gift cards!  Hopefully everyone got some good stuff.  Now to share pictures from my Christmas, Saige's first.

It started snowing on Christmas night here in VA, Cam had to work monday, so he decided to leave before it hit us here & get home before it got bad there too.  We got a whopping 14" here, an unheard of amount, so we had to take pictures.  Since Saige & I are still sick, we just got dressed to step outside to take a picture... no playing for us =(

I will update pictures of the snow & the dogs playing in it later.

Christmas Decor

I was fully ready to be a scrooge this year & not decorate, after all we're not supposed to be in our home for the holiday so why decorate.  Cam pitched a fit for a while proclaiming we had to have a Christmas tree & what not, because Saige would love it.  Thats right ladies & gentlemen, he thinks our (by that time) 2 1/2 month old would LOVE our Christmas decorations (because we all know she would remember it right?).  So, I caved we've I decorated the house & did some outdoor decorations.  I will also answer this question from Monkey-Loo's (Chelle) blog "What kind of Christmas tree are you?":  We are a 4ft artificial, pre-lit table top tree.  We figured with Reese and the baby & not a lot of extra space it was the best route.  We put our baby tree on top of a coffee table & the presents will sit under/around the table, that way as little space is taken up. So now, for your view pleasure:

Santa & his reindeer next to our driveway

Candy Cane row on the backside of our house (faces a main road & the golf course)

Our window & storm door & sliding glass door decor
Front door wreath

the mantle & stockings

2 months, already?

Yes, sadly 2 months have gone by since my beautiful baby girl was born.  I can hardly believe it myself and she's grown so much!  She's smiling socially now, getting on a pretty regular schedule and using her hands to interact more.  She likes tummy time a bit more than she did, success!  She's also getting the hair back on the top of her head, growing in dark just like her momma's!  She's making cooing sounds and its seems like she's trying to get her little laughter out- but its just not here yet.  We had a doctor's appointment today for her 2 month well baby and vaccines, she's a whopping 10lbs11oz and 23" long.  I can't find where she's putting this weight- but as long as she's gaining and steadily I don't care.  We've finally left the newborn diapers behind and graduated to size 1, they're a bit big but the newborns were too small.  Her newborn clothes are old and boring now, they're also getting too short- so we've made our way to the 0-3month sized clothes.  Unfortunately, they're too big!  I'm going to wash and dry a good bit of them to see if they shrink down some for her.

Reese, seems to really like Saige, well she doesn't seem to mind her.  She gives her kisses and will lay with us- but when baby starts fussing Reese moves haha!  Every morning if I don't have Saige in my arms when we get Reese out of the crate she runs looking for her, such a sweet dog.

I'm semi-excited for Christmas this year... Saige's first and so I decorated.  I'll have another post about this... but not today, maybe tomorrow.  For now, entertain yourself with pictures of my baby bird!

Dr appointment & Reese

These are the 2 reasons I've missed Oprah Monday & Tuesday, the same 2 reasons I didn't write a blog either of those days.  Monday I had a DR appointment, and wouldn't you know it was scheduled at 425, so that means I had to leave before 4 to get there & they were behind, so I didn't even get home until after 630.  On Tuesday, I decided Reese needed a bath.  Luckily, her groomers were able to take her & since we were already out Saige & I went shopping.  I bought Saige her Christmas outfits (Christmas Eve and Day) and a few newborn sized outfits because she's still too little for 0-3mos.  Then I got my eyebrows waxed, it looked like I had caterpillars on my face, YUCK!  By the time I got back home from getting Reese picked up and having a day out it was after 5, again no Oprah.  Anywho, because I said it, I will write it... my favorite things (non material)

1.  Holidays (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas) with my family.  We (my side of the family) have big traditions when it comes to the holidays.  I love love love spending it with them & being able to share them with Cam, and now we get to share them with Saige.  Easter is always at my Grandma's where she makes THE BEST pot roast & rolls, Christmas Eve is at my mom's with the BEST meatloaf, Christmas morning is at my Grammy's for breakfast followed by afternoon at Grandma's, and then Thanksgiving alternates between the 2 grandparents every year.  I'm not really looking forward to starting my own tradition at all.

2. Going to the grocery store... ALONE!  Now, some may call me crazy (in fact, my mother does) but there is just something about the grocery store that is therapeutic.  I hate going with anyone (other than my mom) because they drive me nuts (sorry Cam).  I know which way I need to make my rounds, what aisle to stay in a little longer than others and don't have to worry about someone saying "can we get moonpies?"  Really, you're in a grocery store with millions of items and you ask for a box of moonpies?

3.  Reese time.  Although lately it seems like I've had less and less Reese time, I cherish every moment that I have... she's hilarious!  I mean, what other person can say their dog is part deer, squirrel, & shark?

4. Watching Saige grow every single day!  Stay tuned for my next post- I'll update there.

5.  Hanging out at home with Cam watching movies.  Now, this is a favorite as long as he's not here critiquing everything about the movie, or talking through it.  Those two things seem to be very difficult for my sweet husband... but still he tries.

6.  Singing, loudly in the car.  I am a fan of a huge variety of music and I will go from one extreme to the next.  Saige was witness to that in the womb, one day we went from listening to 50 cent to Elton John then Paramore.  Cam has been victim to me belting out Queen's "bohemian rhapsody" and "another one bites the dust" (his personal favorite lol).  Now, there are times when you want those "ballad" type songs and other when you want your party girl songs and the days in between when you feel like you're a true rap artist (thank you Jay-z, Lil Wayne, & Eminem).

7.  No holds barred conversations with my family!  These will have even the most prude ladies rolling (I can prove this) and some of the most open, honest, "nassy™" girls blushing.  Seriously, I mean no holds barred, anyone can be a victim and it can take place at anytime.  I will not go into detail here the topics of conversation, if you should ever experience it, consider yourself luck =)
